Ethernet Port and Web Browser in Audio Video Receiver
Posted by Male Muse in Computers, Featured, Hi-Fi, Music, Tech on February 2, 2008 | No Comments
Has anyone compiled a list of entertainment system audio-video receivers that include a Ethernet port and a web browser that allow the control of the source and volume controls?
I have found a few receivers that seem to do what I want such as:
Yamaha RX-Z11 (+ $4,000)
Onkyo TX-NR905 (+ $1,500)
Denon AVR-4306 (+1,300)
However, I don’t need anything this high end.
If you know of a resource for web browser enabled receivers a link would be appreciated. Thanks.
Microsoft + Yahoo = Sears + Kmart

Holy cow! Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo! for over 44 Billion. What a load of crap.
I want to be one of the guys at Microsoft who comes up with these hair brained schemes. I mean seriously, if I had 44 billion dollars to blow I'm sure I would be able to shop better than the guys who are filling up the shopping cart now.
This merger, or whatever it is supposed to be reminds me a lot of the Sears + Kmart deal. You take two mid to poor performing companies and slap them together. In the Sears/Kmart deal they thought at least Kmart had some interesting real estate. ...
Search Engines: Google vs. MSN vs. Yahoo

Have you ever really tried the exact same search term on Google, MSN (live.com) and Yahoo!? I think usually people tend to have settled on a particular search engine and that’s where they stay. At least that is the behavior I have noticed in my friends and co-workers. It is almost as if they don’t know the other search engines exist.
Anyway, I run a few web sites and I also do web development so I find myself testing different search engines to see how a particular site is ranking. I also consult others on getting their business web sites higher in the search engine rankings so...

Another iPhone Jailbreak – Whoopy Doo

When the iPhone first came out it was interesting to read shortly thereafter about the folks who cracked, or "Jailbroke", the iPhone's operating system. After all, that's what hacking is all about right? Soon there were a few top stories that were talking about the different methods to jailbreak the iPhone. It was even interesting to read about that.
Then Apple came out with a update to the iPhone OS and again a short while later someone hacked that update also. By now it was getting old to read about. No big deal.
Now Apple released the latest...
Zune: It’s Brown, ‘nuf Said

What a world we live in. Steve Jobs makes a comment about the Zune and the whole world gets it's panties in a bunch. Allegedly Robbie Bach made a comment that the Zune was a worthy alternative to the iPod. When Steve Jobs was asked about the statement he asked if Bach was inebriated. More likely Robbie was hitting the pipe. I mean we are talking about the frigging Zune. Oh yeah, they are just flying off the shelves.
I have to agree with Jobs question also: "Do you even know anyone who owns a Zune?" I know I don’t.
One minute the *gadget...

Imagine you went our drinking one Friday night with your boys. Sure you had a great time, after a few drinks you were once again the life of the party. You know you've taken home a few ladies under these circumstances that you may not have without the drinks. But hey, it wasn't ever anything really horrible…until this.
Imagine waking up next to this lady right here.
Tell me the truth. You are going to be thinking you just had some kind of crying game experience aren't you?Is she really a she? Seriously, I've seen some dudes on the Internet...
Dude, I Got a iPhone!

Life is good. I finally got a iPhone and me = happy.
My friends know that I have a kind of phone fetish and have had many different phones throughout the years. I am pretty sure that I have had every kind of cell phone there is. My last favorites were the Windows Mobile variety and the Motorola Razr. Well all I can is this…T-Mobile just lost my Windows Mobile phone account for good. Yes, I just cancelled that account, no remorse.
At first I though I would keep that account at least for business. I have to admit that the remote desktop connection application in the Windows Mobile phone...
